WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University men's tennis team has earned a national ranking of No. 70 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) National Team rankings for March 5.
"I am so excited for our program to achieve a national ranking," head coach
Chris Leicht stated. "We are ready to put Monmouth tennis on the national stage alongside the best teams in the region and country."
The national recognition is Monmouth's second appearance ever in the polls after the Hawks earned a No. 56 ranking during the 2022 season. This year, Monmouth started the season with six consecutive victories and currently owns an 8-2 mark following a 4-3 win over then No. 65 William & Mary on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks are one of three CAA teams in the Top-75 poll, behind No. 40 Delaware and ahead of the No. 74 ranked Tribe.
Monmouth is back in action on Friday when it travels to Cumberland, R.I. for a matchup with Bryant at 1 p.m.
