West Long Branch, N.J. – Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse goalkeeper
Tommy Heller was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week Monday after posting a program record 19 saves in a win at Stony Brook this past weekend.
Heller notched a career-best and program mark 19 stops at Stony Brook, including shutting the Seawolves out in the opening quarter en route to an 11-6 win. He had a .760 save percentage in the contest, also a career best, in making nine first-half saves to go with 10 in the second.
This marks Heller's second Defensive Player of the Week award this season, also doing so after an 18-save contest at Princeton. He joins Towson's Luke Downs as the only players to earn the honor multiple times this year.
MU is back on the field this Saturday at noon at Hofstra.
