Moors Tallies Hat Trick in 6-1 Win Over LIU

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University Field Hockey team delivered a dominant 6-1 victory over LIU on at So Sweet A Cat Field on Sunday afternoon, making it the ninth straight season Head Coach Carli Figlio & Co. have reached the 10-win mark.
 
Monmouth set the tone early in the first quarter with an unassisted goal by Milla Frye at 6:33, her seventh of the season, giving the Hawks a quick 1-0 lead. LIU responded in the second quarter with a goal, leveling the score at 1-1. Monmouth didn't let the tie last long, as Anna Moors answered back before halftime, scoring her sixth goal of the season at 27:10 off assists from Calista Schwartz and Lauren Relik, pushing the Hawks back in front, 2-1.
 
In the third quarter, Monmouth's offense took over. Moors continued her impressive performance, netting her second goal of the game at 39:41 with help from Schwartz and Libby Doehner. Shortly after, Doehner added to the Hawks' lead with her third goal of the season – a shot batted in out of mid-air at 42:40, bringing the score to 4-1. Moors completed her first career hat trick at 44:24, marking her eighth goal of the season and securing a 5-1 advantage.
 
The Hawks capped off their scoring in the fourth quarter when Frye scored her second goal of the game, assisted by senior Johanna Karlhuber, at 47:39. Monmouth's relentless offense outshot LIU 28-3, with 20 shots on goal, creating a steady stream of pressure on LIU's defense.
 
Goalkeepers Jessie Eiselin and Charlie Bowman shared time in net, with Eiselin recording a save in the first half to help keep Monmouth in control. Schwartz was instrumental in facilitating the offense with two assists, while Moors led the team with six shots on goal.
