WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Freshman forward
Claire Campen of the Monmouth University Field Hockey team was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Campen becomes the second consecutive Hawk to earn the conference's weekly honors after goalkeeper
Charlie Bowman.
The Pennsylvania product scored the opening goal just 37 seconds into Monmouth's 4-1 victory over Towson at home on Friday. Campen now has four goals on the season – a mark that ranks third amongst CAA freshman and fifth overall on her team.
Campen and the Hawks (9-5, 2-2 CAA) look to improve to 5-2 on the road as they take on Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 25 in Boston. The game will be broadcast live on FloSports at 3 p.m.
