Ben Zakowski was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Offensive Player of the Week.Â

Zakowski earns weekly honors from the conference office for the first time since he was named the MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 13, 2021.

Zakowski played a key role in the Hawks earning a comeback 3-1 win over LIU on Monday night. The forward factored in Monmouth scoring three goals in a 10:07 stretch of the second half. He rocketed home a shot at the 62:41 mark, which tied the match at 1-1. Zakowski then converted a penalty kick chance at 67:01 which gave the Hawks a 2-1 advantage. He later picked up a helper on
Kevin Zapata's insurance goal in the 73rd minute.Â

It was Zakowski's third match of his career with multiple goals scored. It was also the sixth time in his career that he has been credited with the game-winning goal.Â

Zakowski also registered a shot in the contest at St. John's on Friday night.Â

Zakowski and the Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 9 when they open CAA play with a 1 p.m. match at Elon.
