MU WELCOMES CHRISTINA DIAZ AS SENIOR ASSOCIATE AD

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Athletics and Acting Director of Athletics Jennifer Sansevero have announced the addition of Christina Diaz as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Equity and Inclusion.
 
"I am thrilled to join the Monmouth Family," said Diaz. "There is a tremendous history of success here and I can't wait to work with our stellar coaches, staff, and student-athletes. I am extremely grateful to Jen and her leadership. Her priorities of providing the utmost experience for our student-athletes aligns with my values and I am excited to work side-by-side with her. I am looking forward to seeing our teams compete on and off their competitive areas of play. Fly Hawks!"
 
Diaz comes to West Long Branch from Penn State, where she served as Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Enrichment. While there, her responsibilities included working with all 31 programs in personal and professional development as well as championing diversity, equity and inclusion across the 850+ student-athletes.
 
"I am thrilled to welcome Christina to the Hawk family," said Sansevero. "She is a proven leader who will continue to elevate the student athlete experience, support the department's transition into the CAA and support a culture of excellence."
 
Diaz served as the sport administrator for Penn State's men's and women's tennis programs as well as advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She also recently worked with Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and chaired the student-athlete education subcommittee of the Athletic Council for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Other appointments include the Big Ten LGBTQ+ Symposium Team and Big Ten Diversity Committee, and being a member of the Women Leaders in College Sports Development Committee.
 
Prior to her time as an Assistant AD at Penn State, she served as Special Assistant to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics as well as the Director of Operations for the Nittany Lions softball program. Before her stay in Happy Valley, Diaz worked as a compliance coordinator at both the University of Texas at San Antonio and Jacksonville. She worked as a volleyball coach at JU and Radford.
 
Diaz is a 2009 graduate of the University of Florida, holding a Bachelor of Science in Health Education, before completing a Master of Business Administration at Jacksonville in 2014.
