Reese Bloomstead of the Monmouth University field hockey team was recognized as a member of the 2022-23 Academic All-District At-Large Team on Tuesday, College Sports Communicators announced.
Bloomstead started all 18 games for
Carli Figlio's squad in 2022 and notched a career-high three assists. As the captain of a defense that allowed just eight goals in conference play, the senior led the team and was second in the CAA with three defensive saves. She was named a to the All-CAA Second Team, was a NFHCA Academic Squad member for the fourth consecutive year, and became a two-time Chi Alpha Sigma Honoree, as well.
To be eligible for the Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐ America® honorees will be announced in on Thursday, June 22.
