WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams each earned their first victories of the season against Iona on Friday afternoon at Steadman Natatorium.
The men's team defeated the Gaels, 160-102, while the women's team came away with a 143-119 victory.
Helena Colletta, Jenna Pryne, Isabella Aguanno, Jensen Ritter, and Blake Reynolds each won multiple individual events to lead Monmouth's victory over the Gaels.

The men's 200-yard freestyle relay finished first with a time of 1:25.55. Blake Reynolds, Owen Dyson, Thomas From, and Cole Dyson combined for the win.
Monmouth's women won the 200-yard medley relay as Jenna Pryne, Isabella Aguanno, Jensen Ritter, and Edie Ancell combined for a time of 1:48.58.
Monmouth's men also won the 200-yard medley relay with Owen Dyson, Andrew Denman-Grimm, Blake Reynolds, and Thomas Svane-From winning in 1:33.46.
Ziv Cohen placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle in 9:36.93, making it the third victory in his freshman season.
Cole Dyson earned a win in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.11. Dyson increased his career victory total to 22 and has two wins this season.
Jenna Pryne won two individual races. Pryne was first in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes, clocking in at 59.44 and 2:09.80, respectively.
Isabella Aguanno placed first in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. Her winning times were 1:09.55 (100 breast) and 2:29.00 (200 breast).
Jensen Ritter and Kacper Sobieszuk both earned wins in the 200-yard butterfly. Ritter finished with a time of 2:07.04, while Sobieszuk hit the wall at 1:53.48.
Blake Reynolds took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.50.
Thomas Svane-From claimed a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with his time of 47.17. This is From's first win of the season and 12th career victory.
Gavin Loughlin earned his first victory of the season in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:14.98.
Helena Colletta earned two individual victories in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:44.31) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.99). Colletta now has four first-place finishes in her freshman season.
Jensen Ritter and Blake Reynolds both placed first in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 57.13 and 51.82 respectively. This win gives Ritter six wins on the season and Reynolds four.
