RICHMOND, Va. – Six student-athletes and one coach from the Monmouth University Field Hockey Team earned 2023 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Field Hockey postseasons honors, the league announced Thursday morning.

The Hawks appeared on each of the three All-CAA teams and took home two of four major awards for the season. The Hawks won the Regular Season Title for the second time in as many seasons posting a 5-1 conference record and going 11-5 overall. Head coach
Carli Figlio was named the conference's Coach of the Year after leading her squad to a double-digit win season for the eighth straight year with a six-game win streak in the middle of the schedule from Sept. 11 – Oct. 6. Under Figlio for the 17
th season, Monmouth ranked 15
th in the country in scoring average (2.79) and 18
th in scoring margin (1.30). It is the sixth time in Figlio's career she has been named as the conference's Coach of the Year (1x NEC, 3x MAAC, 2x CAA).

Junior forward
Sofia Fouces was named to the All-CAA First Team, as well as CAA Offensive Player of the Year. Fouces had a monster fall which saw her lead the conference in goals (17), points (39) and game-winning goals (7). The Argentina native ranks fifth in the nation in points (2.44) and goals (1.07) per game. Fouces potted a goal in 13 different contests this year, including three multi-goal efforts and a hat trick against Rider on Sept. 30.

Joining Fouces on the All-CAA First Team was senior defender
Reese Bloomstead and junior midfielder
Jess Tucker. Bloomstead – the lone captain of the Hawks – started all 16 games for the Blue and White and led the defense that ranked second in the CAA in goals allowed per game (1.50). Tucker set career highs in goals (7), assists (6), and points (20) and ranked inside the top 10 in the conference in all three categories. Bloomstead and Tucker were recognized as a First Team members after making the Second Team in 2022.

In addition,
Aylin Aufenacker made her third career All-Conference Team by receiving Second Team honors. The German finished with three goals and two assists to give her 26 and 25, respectively, for her five-year career in West Long Branch. Aufenacker's 26 goals rank ninth all-time at Monmouth, while her 25 helpers rank fourth.

Two Hawks made the CAA All-Rookie Team, as well, as freshmen
Jessie Eiselin and
Anna Moors were recognized for their strong debut seasons. Eiselin was a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week Award winner twice, while Moors brought won it once. Eiselin tied Drexel's Megan Hadfield for the conference lead in shutouts with five and posted a .778 save percentage which, nationally, ranked second among all freshmen goalkeepers and 14
th overall. Moors started all 16 games for the Hawks and was tied for fourth on the team with three goals.
The top-seeded Hawks will play fourth-seeded Northeastern in the program's second straight CAA Championship Tournament appearance on Friday, November 3, at 1:05 p.m at Fred P. Rullo Stadium in Newark, Del.
