Anna Moors recorded two goals as she helped lead the Monmouth University Field Hockey Team to a 5-3 win over the Northeastern Huskies at So Sweet A Cat Field on Friday afternoon.

With the victory, the Hawks clinch a spot in the four-team CAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.

Moors got the scoring going with a rocket that found the back of the cage at the 10:29 mark of the first quarter.
Calista Schwartz and
Nora Goddard-Despot were credited with assists on the play off the corner try.
Minutes later,
Aylin Aufenacker broke her scoring drought with a deflection off the post and in off a feed from junior
Jess Tucker.

In the second quarter, the Hawks extended their lead to 3-0 on a nearly identical corner play where Moors scored once again from Schwartz and Goddard-Despot.
Coming out of halftime,
Jess Tucker scored her fourth goal in three games to make it 4-0, Monmouth, with just over 25 minutes remaining in regulation.
Northeastern battled back to bring the game within two in the fourth, but
Sofia Fouces scored her CAA-leading 13
th goal of 2023 into an empty cage after the Huskies pulled their goalkeeper with about five minutes left in regulation. Aufenacker was credited with the assist, her second of the season and 25
th of her career.

Northeastern scored again with 20 seconds remaining, but it was all a formality as the Hawks closed out the 5-3 win.
