NEWARK, Del. – The Monmouth University men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2022 season at the Delaware Opener, hosted by the University of Delaware, on Saturday morning. The women's squad placed second out of four competing schools while the men finished first out of three schools.
 
Marisa Kilgarriff earned a fourth-place finish in the season-opening event on the women's side, clocking in with a time of 18:47.7. Louis DiLaurenzio paced the men's field in the 5k at the White Clay Creek State Park, crossing the line in 15:45.7.
