WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University's
Annick van Lange scored the game winning goal in overtime to win 3-2 in a field hockey matchup versus Wagner College on Sunday afternoon at So Sweet A Cat Field.
Johanna Karlhuber opened the scoring in the third quarter with her first goal of the season, and
Annick van Lange scored her fourth of the season off a corner in that same frame to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Seahawks battled back to tie it before the end of regulation with goals from Liselotte Koop and Kira Mordvinov in the fourth quarter and sent the game to sudden death tied 2-2.
Nearly halfway through overtime, Monmouth was awarded a corner, and the Hawks capitalized. Off a feed from
Katie Yoder, van Lange netted her fifth of the season, and second of the game, to lift Monmouth to a 3-2 OT win.
