JULIE STANKIEWICZ JOINS SWIMMING COACHING STAFF

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Head Swimming Coach Matt Nunnally has announced the appointment of Julie Stankiewicz as the Director of Aquatics and Assistant Swimming Coach. Stankiewicz comes to the Jersey Shore after spending the 2021-22 season in the same position at Drew University.

'I am excited to welcome Julie to the Monmouth swimming program," Nunnally said. "Julie's experience as a swimmer at Seton Hall will be of great benefit to our athletes' success in the classroom and the pool. Her ties to the New Jersey swimming community as both an age group and college swimmer will be helpful in our recruiting efforts. I anticipate her bringing great enthusiasm and energy to the program as we transition into the CAA."

Stankiewicz attended Seton Hall University, where she completed an outstanding swimming career as an NCAA Division I student-athlete. She established school records for the Pirates in the 100-backstroke, 500-freestyle and 800-freestyle relay events and was an All-Big East selection during each of her last three seasons. Also a four-time Big East All-Academic Team honoree and Dean's List student, she graduated from Seton Hall with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in Communications.

Additionally, Stankiewicz has served as a swim instructor for Take Me to the Water Swim School, instructing students from three months to 50 years old how to swim and practice water safety. She has also worked as the head swim coach for the Metuchen Municipal Pool, assisting with practices while helping to schedule swim meets and write meet lineups for around 150 swimmers. In addition, she has served as a volunteer for the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA.

Stankiewicz is a native of Metuchen, NJ.
