HAMPTON, Va. – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams completed their 2023-24 seasons at the CAA championships over the past four days at the Hampton Aquaplex.
The teams combined to set a total of seven school records, five by the men and two by the women as well as numerous personal best times.

The hard work the team put in all year was evident as the championships progressed as we continued to get stronger each day. Wednesday Events
Cole Dyson, Thomas Svane-From, Kacper Sobieszuk, and Ziv Cohen set a new school record in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay with their time of 6:39.43.
Thursday Events
Owen Dyson qualified for the B Final in the 50-yard freestyle with his time of 20.52. Dyson placed first in the B Final with a Monmouth record-breaking time of 20.36.
Jenna Pryne qualified for the C Final for the 200-yard IM with a school record-breaking time of 2:06.04.
The men's 400-yard medley team of

Blake Reynolds, and
Thomas Svane-From set a new program record in 3:18.55.
Cole Dyson advanced to the B Final in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:29.14.
Both Jensen Ritter and Kristen Gullickson advanced to the C Final for the 500-yard freestyle. Ritter finished with a time of 4:59.97 and Gullickson touched the wall at 5:04.23.
Friday Events
Both Bailey Rynkiewicz and Kristen Gullickson advanced to the C Final for the 400-yard IM. Rynkiewicz had a time of 4:33.98 and Gullickson set a then-school record in 4:31.70. At night, Gullickson broke her own program record in the 400-yard IM C Final with a time of 4:30.38.
Jensen Ritter qualified for the C Final for the 100-yard butterfly with her time of 55.88.
Kacper Sobieszuk swam the 400-yard IM in 4:03.14 to qualify for the B Final.
Thomas Svane-From and Cole Dyson advanced to the A and B Finals for the 200-yard freestyle. Dyson touched the wall at 1:38.93 to qualify for the B Final and Svane-From finished in 1:38.33 to qualify for the A Final. Svane-From finished in eighth place in the A Final with his time of 1.38.38.
Isabella Aguanno advanced to the C Final of the 100-yard breaststroke. Aguanno hit the wall in 1:06.49 in the prelims and posted a time of 1:06.39 in the night session.
For the 100-yard backstroke, both Jenna Pryne and Owen Dyson qualified for the C Final and the A Final, respectively. Pryne's time was 56.95 and Dyson swam 47.81. Dyson went on to place seventh in the A Final with his time of 48.10.
Saturday Events
Thomas Svane-From set a new program record in the 100-yard freestyle with his time of 44.98 to earn him a spot in the B Finals. Trevor Nolan finished in 44.99 in the heat before Svane-From to briefly hold the team record. Both qualified for the B Finals in the event.
Kacper Sobieszuk swam the 200-yard butterfly in 1:49.17 to break the program record and advance to the A Finals.
Dylan Edge finished right behind Sobieszuk to advance to the B Finals of the 200-fly with his time of 1:49.80. Sobieszuk placed seventh overall (1:50.41) to secure 12 points for Monmouth.
Jenna Pryne qualified for the B Final for the 200-yard backstroke with her time of 2:03.13.
In the 200-yard backstroke event, both Dylan Edge and Owen Dyson qualified for the B Final. Edge's time of 1:47.85 and Dyson's time of 1:48.43 advanced them to the finals.
Isabella Aguanno qualified for her second C Final of the weekend in the 200-yard breaststroke. Her time of 2:21.83 propelled her to the finals. Aguanno improved her time in the evening swim to 2:21.22.
Jensen Ritter and Bailey Rynkiewicz advanced to the B and C Finals, respectively. Ritter finished in 2:03.45 and Rynkiewicz hit the wall at 2:06.03. Ritter swam 2:03.05 in the evening session, while Rynkiewicz also improved her time to 2:05.73.
