COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams were honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) when the organization announced its Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2022 semester.
The award celebrates teams that achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the past semester. Monmouth's women's swimming team has now earned the award in nine consecutive semesters, while the men have been recognized in each of the past seven semesters.
"Earning this Academic All-America Team recognition is a constant goal for our student-athletes," head coach
Matt Nunnally said. "I am proud of the continued hard work by both our men's and women's teams, as well as our academic support staff, and they deserve to be rewarded for their academic performances."
The women's team combined to accumulate a grade-point average of 3.64, while the men earned a 3.46 GPA. At the Division I level, the Hawks were one of 172 women's swimming teams to receive the honor. The men were one of 106 teams recognized.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
