POMONA, NY – Monmouth University Baseball (24-27) was eliminated from the 2022 MAAC Tournament Wednesday night by sixth-seeded Niagara, 9-5 at Clover Stadium in Pomona. Three Hawks had multiple hits in the game.

Niagara jumped out with eight runs in the first inning to take the lead, and added one in the fourth to make it 9-0. MU got on the board in the sixth, with the first two reaching ahead of an RBI single from
Dixon Black.
James Harmstead singled home a run with a hard-hit ball to left to make it 9-2 before
Joey Ventresca hit a ball into the gap to score two more and cut it to 9-2.

Dan Klepchick delivered two shutout innings with four strikeouts and
Reed Interdonato added another, and Monmouth got an RBI single from Black in the ninth to trim it to 9-5. MU was one batter away from getting the tying run to the plate in the ninth but were unable to do so.
