Biography

2024 (Redshirt senior):
  • Started all 48 games on the season, one of two Hawks to do so.
  • Batted .257 with 14 doubles and a team-best seven home runs. 
  • Contributed 29 runs scored and 32 RBIs on the year. 
  • Had a five game hit streak in early March. 
  • Reached base safely in 12 straight games at one point. 
  • Tied for second on the team with 15 multi-hit games. 
  • Ranked second on the team with eight multi-RBI games.
  • His seven home runs on the year gave him 34 for his career, which ranks second in career history at Monmouth.
  • Had a season-high four RBIs after a two-hit performance against George Mason (3/8).
  • Recorded back-to-back games with three RBIs in each George Mason (3/10) and Saint Joseph's (3/15).
  • Had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored in the game two win over Towson (3/22).
  • Finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored in the victory over Villanova (4/17).

2022 (R-Sophomore)
  • Named to All-MAAC Second Team
  • Broke Monmouth’s single season home run record with 18
  • Led the MAAC in home runs
  • Led MU with 18 homers and 48 RBI’s as well as a .601 slugging
  • Named MAAC Player of the Week on 3/15
  • Only Hawk to start all 51 games
  • First home run of season came as part of four-hit, three-RBI day at Wofford (2/25)
  • Launched two home runs in a big afternoon at Fairleigh Dickinson
  • Homered in three straight games from 3/6-3/11
  • Drove in four runs at North Carolina A&T (3/11)
  • Doubled three times in a four-hit outing at Delaware (3/18)
  • Homered twice at Fordham with four RBI’s and three hits (3/25)
  • Drove in three with pair of hits against Iona (4/3)

  • Placed second on team with 21 runs driven in and led MU with 27 runs scored
  • Hit .259 with two home runs and six doubles
  • Named MAAC Rookie of the Week on March 22
  • Homered for first collegiate hit in first start, a two-run shot at Quinnipiac (3/20)
  • Had a pair of multi-hit games against Manhattan (3/28-29)
  • Knocked in two runs and scored twice against Siena (4/3)
  • Scored three times vs. Rider (4/7)
  • Drove in two with a double at Saint Peter’s (5/9)
  • Scored three times in multi-hit afternoon at Saint Peter’s (5/9)
  • Homered and drove in two in MAAC Tournament vs. Siena (5/21)
  • Posted multi-hit games in four of the final five contests of the season.
2020 (Freshman)
  • Did not see action in 2020.
HIGH SCHOOL
  • Harmstead played the infield at Manasquan High School for Head Coach Brendan Gordon
  • He helped the Warriors to a 2017 state title, and was named Second Team All-Conference and First Team All Group Two while at Manasquan
  • He earned an All-Tournament Team nod at the Perfect Game 2018 WWBA Northeast Qualifier, while earning the same honor in 2017 along with being named All-Tournament at the 2017 WWBA Underclass World Championship.
