LATE SIENA RALLY DOWNS MONMOUTH BASEBALL, 8-3

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Trey Dombroski broke the program's single-season record for strikeouts, and James Harmstead tied the single-season home run mark, but Siena College (11-33, 8-12 MAAC) scored seven times in the eighth inning to steal the middle game from Monmouth University Baseball (23-23, 11-8 MAAC) Saturday, 8-3.

Monmouth scored twice in the second, the latter coming on a Casey Caufield RBI single to make it 2-0. After Dombroski fanned three in a row in the second, Dombroski broke Pat Light's single-season program record for strikeouts with his 103rd of the season in the third. Siena scratched a run across in the fourth, but Dombroski struck out the final batter he faced in the seventh to exit with a 2-1 lead.

Harmstead led off the eighth with his 17th home run of the season, tying the program single-season record, to make it 3-1. However, Siena rallied with a seven-run, seven-hit eighth to lead 8-3, a lead they would hold to secure the win.
