EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University men's lacrosse fifth-year senior goalie
Noah Lode has been named the MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
Lode backstopped Monmouth to a critical MAAC victory over Canisius on Saturday afternoon to keep the Hawks in the hunt for a postseason berth. The Centreville, MD native totaled 12 saves and held the Griffs to four goals, tying his career-best effort. The four goals conceded are tied for fifth in program history and it marks the best defensive effort since the Hawks held NJIT to four goals during Lode's freshman season in 2018.
Lode also collected two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in the 6-4 win as Monmouth forced 14 turnovers as a team, which tied for the fifth best effort in school history. Monmouth improved to 5-1 in 2022 when holding its opponent to less than 10 goals.
Monmouth hosts Manhattan on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. for Senior Day. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
