EDISON, NJ – Mujeeb Ali and Danielle Steff each earned Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors from the MAAC, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Ali was named the Men's Field Performer of the Week while Steff was named the Women's Field Performer of the Week following strong performances at Monmouth's 26^th Annual Outdoor Home Opener.
 
Ali won the shot-put event with a mark of 16.49m. He also finished in third place in both the discus throw (47.36m) and the hammer throw (49.55m, a new personal best).
 
Steff won the javelin throw event with a mark of 48.52m, a new facility record. Steff also finished second in the discus throw event with a mark of 40.49m, a new personal best, and competed in the hammer throw event for the first time, posting a mark of 30.50m.
 
The Hawks are back in action at the Towson Invitational, hosted by Towson University, on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2. Field events begin at 12 p.m. on both days with running events set to start an hour later at 1 p.m.
