GREENVILLE, SC – Monmouth University Baseball (4-3) dropped a pair of games to second-ranked Notre Dame on Saturday in Greenville.
Dan Klepchick allowed just a run on three hits in his start, while
Rob Hensey tossed six strong innings in his. The Fighting Irish won the opener 16-2 before taking the nightcap 9-0.

In the opener, Klepchick tossed three shutout innings before Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead in the fourth. After his outing, the Irish posted three in the fifth and five in the sixth to lead 9-0. MU got two back in the seventh, scoring on a
James Harmstead RBI double before he came around to score on a wild pitch. Notre Dame would add runs in the seventh and eighth to win it 16-2.

Hensey was excellent in his six innings in the nightcap, allowing two runs on three hits with just one walk and seven K's. The two runs he allowed came on a slow-rolling ground out in the second before retiring 12 in a row and 13 of his final 14. MU had the tying run at the plate in the seventh, but Notre Dame added runs in the seventh and eighth to win it 9-0.
