BASEBALL FALLS LATE TO GEORGE MASON FRIDAY

FAIRFAX, VA – Trey Dombroski threw seven strong innings, but a big eighth inning led George Mason University (4-5) over Monmouth University Baseball (4-4) 11-5 on Friday afternoon.
 
Brady Mutz lifted a sac fly in the fifth to give Monmouth a 1-0 lead, but George Mason got two back in the bottom half on a Knapp double to take their first lead. In the eighth, Dixon Black's ground out got things even at two, but the home team put together a nine-run eighth to take an 11-2 lead. Nick Campana lifted his first home run of the year, a three-run shot in the ninth, to make it 11-5, the final score.
