RICHMOND, Va. – Redshirt sophomore
Dalton Yeust was named the CAA men's Field Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Yeust took home first place in the pole vault at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday with a clearance of 4.85m (15' 11.00"). The mark ranks first in the conference by 0.35m, and it ties his personal best for the second-best indoor performance in program history.
Yeust becomes the second consecutive Hawk to earn the conference's weekly honor after
Mujeeb Ali won it last week for impressive showings in the shot put and weight throw at the Rutgers Holiday Classic. He was one of six Hawks to win an event at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout. Yeust's strong effort this week moves him into the top 50 for pole vaulting nationally.
The Hawks are now on a monthlong break for finals and the holidays. Their next meet will be the UPenn Select Meet on Saturday, January 14, back in Staten Island, NY.
