RIVERDALE, NY – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams each earned dual meet victories over Manhattan on Saturday afternoon at Loria Family Aquatic Center.
The men's team came away with a convincing 204-52 win, while the women cruised to a 181-69 victory over the Jaspers.
Alexa Houseknecht won three individual races to lead the women's team, while
Blake Reynolds,
Dean Beyer,
James Leitz and
Callan Smith each won two races for the men's team.

Monmouth's women won 200-yard medley relay with freshmen
Edie Ancell,
Isabella Aguanno,
Bailey Rynkiewicz and
Morgan Fredette winning in 1:52.90.
Alexa Houseknecht won three individual races. Houseknecht was first in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.13), the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.74) and the 100-yard IM (1:03.35). She won her first races of the year and has four career wins to her credit.
Bailey Rynkiewicz won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.85. Rynkiewicz won her second race of the year.
Five Hawks won their first-career races;
Julia Bocaj,
Jenna Pryne,
Edie Ancell,
Isabella Aguanno and
Hannah Parker.
Jensen Ritter earned a win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.49.
Julia Bocaj took the top spot in the 1000 free with her time of 11:23.43.
Jenna Pryne placed first in the 50-yard backstroke with her time of 26.68.
Edie Ancell earned a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.36.
Isabella Aguanno claimed a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.17).
Hannah Parker's time of 5:23.07 was a first-place performance in the 500-yard freestyle.
The men also took first in the 200-yard medley relay with
Kevin Del Giorno,
Sean Cook,
Blake Reynolds and
Thomas Svane-From finishing in 1:34.26.
Dean Beyer won the 1000 free in 9:43.73 and the 500 free in 4:44.09. Beyer has four wins this year and six for his career.
James Leitz won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.91 and the 100-yard backstroke in 53.58. Leitz won his first two races of the year and has four career wins.
Blake Reynolds hit the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.25 and the 50-yard butterfly in 22.75. Reynolds increased his career victory total to 31 and has seven wins this season.
Callan Smith added to his victory total with wins in the 100-yard freestyle (47.35) and 100-yard IM (52.81). Smith now has nine wins this year and 82 for his career.
Owen Dyson placed first in the 200-yard freestyle when he hit the wall in 1:45.03. It was the first win of his career.
Kevin Del Giorno earned the win in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 23.58. Del Giorno won his first race of the season and has four career victories.
Sean Cook took first in the 50-yard breaststroke, winning in 27.09. Cook won his first race of 2022-23 and has five career wins.
