MURRAY INKS DEAL WITH FC TUCSON

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Former Monmouth men's soccer goalkeeper Sean Murray signed a professional deal to play with FC Tucson in the United Soccer League (USL) League One on Monday.

"We are very excited for Sean," Monmouth head men's soccer coach Robert McCourt said. "Sean has been a tremendous student-athlete here at Monmouth and has been such a positive representation of our program both on the field and in the classroom. Getting an opportunity to turn pro has been a goal of Sean's from day one. FC Tucson is a great chance for Sean to showcase his talents at the next level and I look forward to monitoring his progress."

Murray completed his career with the Hawks this past fall after starting in all 19 matches and posting a MAAC-best 1.06 goals against average en route to earning Second Team All-MAAC recognition. He made 64 saves in between the pipes and logged seven clean sheets.

The Fanwood, N.J., native was a staple in goal throughout his time with the program, playing in 63 matches and compiling 258 career saves with 17 shutouts. He was named the 2020-21 MAAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year after his junior campaign and earned the All-Rookie Team nod as a freshman. Murray also was a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree.
