Friedman Named USC Scholar All-Region

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University men's soccer senior midfielder Jakob Friedman earned United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-East Region honors after succeeding both on the field and in the classroom. 
 
Friedman earned Scholar All-Region accolades for the first time in his career. 
 
The honors continue to roll in for Friedman, who was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, USC All-East Region and Second Team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) this fall.
 
The senior, who carries a 3.63 GPA as a Business Management major, scored a career-high four goal this season. He tallied the game-winner at La Salle. He also had a goal in three straight matches in late October. 
 
Friedman ranked among the CAA leaders in assists throughout the regular season. His eight helpers are a career-high this season. Friedman had two assists in the win over Drexel and had another two-assist night in the victory over Temple. He had a stretch in September in which he registered at least one assist in four straight matches (9/2-9/16). 
 
Friedman finished the season ranked second in the CAA for assists (8) and fourth in points per game (1.00).
 
The USC Scholar All-American teams will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 18.
