WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – After a stellar senior season, Monmouth University midfielder
Jakob Friedman earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Atlantic Region accolades.
Â
It is the 63rd time in program history that the Hawks have had a player earn All-Region accolades and the first since Ben Zakowski,
Olle Brorsson,
Eryk Dymora and
Gabe Dahlin were honored in 2023.
"I am really happy for Jakob," said head coach
Robert McCourt. "He deserves all the accolades he gets. He's been a fantastic ambassador for our program onn and off the field. I look forward to watching him in his career after Monmouth."
Â
Friedman received postseason accolades for the first time in his career after being named Second Team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) earlier this fall.Â
Â
The senior midfielder scored a career-high four goal this season. He tallied the game-winner at La Salle. He also had a goal in three straight matches in late October.Â
Â
Friedman ranked among the CAA leaders in assists throughout the regular season. His eight helpers are a career-high this season. Friedman had two assists in the win over Drexel and had another two-assist night in the victory over Temple. He had a stretch in September in which he registered at least one assist in four straight matches (9/2-9/16).Â
Â
Friedman finished the season ranked second in the CAA for assists (8) and fourth in points per game (1.00).
