COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Monmouth University women's swimming team was honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) when the organization announced its Scholar All-America Teams for the Fall 2021 semester.
The award celebrates teams that achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the past semester. Monmouth's women's swimming team has now earned the award in eight consecutive semesters, while the men have been recognized in each of the past six semesters.
"Our student-athletes have prioritized their academic performances and this Academic All-America Team recognition is a result," head coach
Matt Nunnally said. "I am pleased with the sustained success of our women's team and the improvement from our men, and am proud of both teams being in the top six here at Monmouth."
The women's team combined to accumulate a grade-point average of 3.53, while the men earned a 3.48 GPA. At the Division I level, the Hawks were one of 171 women's swimming teams to receive the honor. The men were one of 100 teams recognized with the honor.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
