WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Baseball and Head Coach Dean Ehehalt have announced the 2022 schedule, featuring 53 games and 14 matchups with NCAA Regional qualifiers in 2021. MU will play 17 games at home as part of the schedule.
 
"The team is very eager to get back on the field and anxiously look forward to our 2022 season," said Ehehalt. "We will definitely challenge ourselves with the early non-conference portion of our schedule, especially prior to MAAC play. As always, our goal is to prepare our team with a tough non-league slate against some very formidable opponents in order to be ready for the demands of MAAC play."
 
The season opens against Big Ten member Penn State on February 18 in Cary, NC, part of a four-game weekend that includes Northeastern and LIU. MU then takes on Wofford and Notre Dame twice each in a weekend in South Carolina, before a three-game set at George Mason to open March. The Hawks' first game in New Jersey comes March 9 at Fairleigh Dickinson before heading to a weekend set at VCU. MU concludes non-league weekends with trips to Delaware and Fordham, with the final game against the Rams slated as MU's home opener on March 27.
 
MAAC play kicks off with three games against Iona in West Long Branch to open April. It marks the first of four home weekends the Hawks will play in the month, also hosting Niagara, Marist and Rider with a trip to Quinnipiac in the middle. Monmouth will play its final three league weekends on the road, heading to Fairfield, Siena and Canisius to close the schedule out. MU's final home contest takes place on May 10 against Villanova. The 2022 MAAC Tournament is slated for May 25-28.
