CROSS COUNTRY DELIVERS BEST CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE SINCE JOINING MAAC

GALLOWAY, NJ – The Monmouth University cross country teams concluded the 2020-21 season at the MAAC Championships in Galloway, NJ Friday afternoon. The men's team finished in second place with 77 points and the women's team placed fourth with 83 points. Both of these scores are the best since Monmouth joined the MAAC. 
 
For the men, junior Louis DiLaurenzio (Hazlet, NJ/ Raritan) finished in 10th place out of 127 runners with a time of 25:12.59 in the 8K. Sophomore Cameron Janovic (Oceanport, NJ/ Shore Regional) came in 14th with a time of 25:24.67, while junior James Hoffman (Ocean Township, NJ/ Ocean) placed 18th for the Hawks with a time of 25:35.42.
 
For the women, freshman Allie Pierontoni finished in sixth place out of 112 with a time of 22:15.70 in the 6K. Pierontoni was also named to the 2020-21 Women's MAAC Cross Country All-MAAC Team and the 2020-21 MAAC Cross Country All-Rookie Team. Freshman Katie Locker (Elizabethtown, PA/ Elizabethtown Area) finished 13th with a time of 22:36.05 and junior McKenzie Delehanty (Green Township, NJ/ Lenape Valley) took in 16th with a time of 22:39.64.

- Louis DiLaurenzio and Cameron Janovic were each named to 2020-21 Men's Cross Country All-MAAC Team.
- Allie Pierontoni and Katie Locker were both named to the 2020-21 Women's MAAC Cross Country All-MAAC Team.
- Pierontoni and Locker also earned spots on the 2020-21 Women's MAAC Cross Country All-Rookie Team.
- Sebastien Reed was named to the 2020-21 Men's MAAC Cross Country All-Rookie Team
