Three Hawks Earn All-CAA Recognition at Cross Country Championships

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Monmouth men's and women's cross country teams competed in the CAA Championships on Thursday morning, earning three top-15 finishes and All-CAA honors at Ocean County Park in Lakewood, N.J.

In the women's 6000-meter race, two Hawks secured top 10 results, as Brianna Jucewicz's 21:19.8 run was the ninth best in the race, just ahead of Kristen Sarnicola's 21:20.10 mark, good for 10th place. On the men's side, Tennessee Tremain picked up a 14th-place finish in the 8000-meter contest with a team-best 24:12.0 run.

Jucewicz, a senior, and Sarnicola, a sophomore, each set new career-best marks in the 6k race. Tremain's sub-25 mark was also his career best, beating his previous high mark of 24:23.2, set at the Princeton Fall Classic on Oct. 17, 2025.

In the team results, the women claimed a fourth-place finish, totaling 102 points, while the men's team finished fifth with 118 points. Elon put on a dominant performance to earn the team championship, tallying just 23 points, while Hofstra had the top two overall finishers in the 8k to claim the team title at 44 points

Behind Monmouth's two top-10 finishers in the women's race, Lana Hurwitz finished 20th overall with a 21:46.10 mark, while Payton Campbell rounded out the top four for the Hawks at 21:55.8, coming in 25th.

In the second race of the afternoon, Gavin Rossi crossed the finish line just outside the top 15, earning a 16th-place finish with a 24:23.7 mark. Nick Kuenkel and Michael Card finished 24th and 26th, respectively, with 24:41.6 and 24:46.4 runs.

Up next for the Hawks is a return to Penn State's campus on Friday, Nov. 14th, for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
