FIELD HOCKEY SHUTS OUT UALBANY, 2-0

ALBANY, NY – Goals by Aylin Aufenacker (Hamburg, Germany/ Gymnasium Eppendorf) and Ireen Frenken  (Tilburg, Netherlands/ Odulphus Lyceum) coupled with another strong defensive performance paved the way for a 2-0 road victory by the Monmouth University field hockey team against UAlbany on Sunday afternoon.

Aufenacker netted the first goal for the Hawks in the 18th minute off feed from Ireen Frenken, who later on found the back of the cage on a corner, set up by Aufenacker and Julianna Carletti (Cherry Hill, NJ/ Bishop Eustace). The two-goal advantage proved be enough as junior Kate O'Hogan (Dublin, Ireland/ Mount Anville Secondary) picked up her fourth shutout of the season behind the Monmouth defense.
