Game Recap: Field Hockey |

FIELD HOCKEY EDGES UMASS LOWELL

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Annick van Lange (Sint-Job, Belgium/ Annuntia Institute) scored the game's lone goal in the third quarter and Kate O'Hogan (Dublin, Ireland/ Mount Anville Secondary) made three saves in cage as the Monmouth University field hockey team knocked off UMass Lowell on Friday afternoon at So Sweet A Cat Field.

After a scoreless first half for both teams, van Lange scored her first goal of the season off of a feed from Ireen Frenken (Tilburg, Netherlands/ Odulphus Lyceum). Her tally proved to be the game-winning goal as the defense in front of O'Hogan held the River Hawks to only seven shots and one penalty corner on the day.

NOTES & QUOTES
"Today the girls showed a ton of character, they stayed the course even when their legs were tired and I'm really proud of how deep they dug today in order to come out with a total team win. All the teams that we have competed against have been such great competitors and for the girls to be able to mentally as well as physically withstand these last four games In seven days, I'm just so proud of who we're starting to mold ourselves into."
– Monmouth Head Coach, Carli Figlio
