WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Sarina Jones and Jill Conklin of the Monmouth women's soccer team received United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Team recognition on Monday.

Jones earned the second team nod for the second consecutive year, while Conklin collected third team honors.

Jones, the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, was a key cog for the Hawks during their 2021 conference regular season and tournament championship run. The Sicklerville, N.J., native compiled six points on two goals and two assists in her final season while captaining a Monmouth back line that posted nine shutouts. She was one of just three Hawks to play and start in all 21 matches and logged the second most minutes on the team.

"Sarina had a remarkable career and this is another terrific accomplishment," head coach Krissy Turner said. "She is an elite defender and this is recognition that is well deserved."

Conklin, also a team captain, played a large role in Monmouth's successful 2021 campaign. The Toms River, N.J. native logged 10 points on four goals and two assists en route to being named First Team All-MAAC. She finished third on the Hawks in points and goals scored.

"Jill is an elite competitor," Turner said. "For her to be named as an all-region performer this season after returning so quickly from a serious injury and then suffering another injury but continuing to play, speaks volumes about her determination."
