RAGENKLINT QUALIFIES FOR NCAA DIVISION I CHAMPIONSHIPS

FINAL RESULTS
Women: 8 of 27
Men: 11 of 26

BETHLEHEM, PA – Both of the Monmouth University cross country teams put together historic performances at the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Friday at Lehigh University.

Sammi Ragenklint became the first Hawk in school history to qualify for the NCAA Division I Championships by finishing fifth in the 6k event, leading the women to their best-ever team finish (eighth) at a Mid-Atlantic Regional. Ragenklint clocked in with a time of 20:28.6 in her race.

The men's squad also earned their best-ever finish at a Mid-Atlantic Regional, placing 11th out of 26 teams in the 10k race. Louis DiLaurenzio paced the men with a time of 32:12.9, a new personal best that was good for 55th place overall.

NOTEABLE FINISHES & QUOTES
"Today was a historic day for our program! I'm so proud of our student-athletes and the way they battled for each other. The women got us rolling on a very positive note. We've never had an individual NCAA national qualifier, but that changed today! Sammi battled with the lead pack the entire race and sprinted home for a 5th place finish.

We've never had an All-Region finisher (top 25 placement), and today we had two: Sammi in fifth and Mackenzie Jones in 21st. The best finish in program history for the women was 12th place; today we placed 8th. I couldn't be prouder of this group. They have shown confidence, toughness, and resilience.

The men had an equally impressive day. We came in ranked 13th, and we moved up a couple spots to 11th. The men showed poise under some very challenging conditions. They moved up to the 10k distance and the course was muddy due to all the rain. The best the men have ever placed at this meet was also 12th. So, both groups had our best finish ever at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. Overall, it was a great day for the Hawks!" - Head Coach Mike Nelson

- The Hawks had two All-Region finishers in the women's 6k event for the first time ever
- Jones finished with a time of 21:06.5
- Freshman Katie Locker was third among Monmouth's women, earning a 70th place finish with her time of 22:16.9
- Right behind DiLaurenzio was his teammate Cameron Janovic, finishing in 57th place and putting up a new personal best time of 32:14.6
- In his first college 10k event, the MAAC's Most Outstanding Rookie, Luke Miller, clocked in at 32:38.7 which was good for a 72nd place finish
