WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University field hockey team (11-5, 5-2 AE) scored twice in the fourth quarter to earn a come-from-behind victory against American East rival Cal (9-5, 5-2 AE) on Friday afternoon.
 
Annick van Lange scored her 15th goal of the season early in the first quarter to put the Hawks up 1-0 on a penalty corner opportunity, with Lorane Vanneste and Bente Steenhorst picking up assists. The Golden Bears took control in the second quarter, netting two goals and taking a 2-1 advantage into halftime.
 
Three minutes into the fourth quarter, van Lange took an assist from Lieve Meidane and netted the 50th goal of her career to even the score up, 2-2. The senior completed the sixth hat trick of her career with just under six minutes to go in the final quarter, converting on a wraparound shot to give Monmouth a 3-2 lead that it wouldn't relinquish.

- van Lange now has 51 goals over her career. She is the third player in program history to eclipse the 50-goal mark, joining Michelle Pieczynski (59) and Trish O'Dwyer (53) in the 50-goal club

- With a win on Sunday, the Hawks will clinch the second seed in the America East Championship
