FIELD HOCKEY EXTENDS WINNING STREAK AGAINST NEW HAMPSHIRE

FINAL SCORE
Monmouth 4 (8-5, 3-2)
New Hampshire 1 (3-10, 1-4)

DURHAM, NH – The Monmouth University field hockey team (8-5, 3-2 AE) extended its winning streak to three games after beating New Hampshire (3-10, 1-4 AE) on Friday afternoon in Durham.

Hanna McKie, the America East Offensive Player of the Week, started the scoring four minutes into the first quarter when she fired a shot past goalkeeper Jemma Woods. The Wildcats would even up the score two minutes later when Finn Caron took a feed from Tori Palumbo and turned it into her second goal of the season.

The Hawks took the lead back early in the second quarter after converting on a penalty corner. Bente Steenhorst received the backline pass from Aylin Aufenacker, setting it up perfectly for Lorane Vanneste who netted her ninth goal of the year. Aufenacker continued her strong play in the second half, finding the back of the net twice for her first two goals of the season.
