WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's tennis team continued its fall schedule this past weekend with a strong showing at the Army West Point Shootout. 

The team went 17-5 in singles competition and 9-5 in doubles matches. The Hawks were led by senior Neils Van Noord, who went 5-0 at the event, including a pair of singles victories. 

Monmouth improved to 2-0 on the young season and increased their regular season winning streak to 12 consecutive matches.

"We had some excellent results at the Army West Point Shootout, which included multiple regionally ranked teams. I was happy that all 10 of our players were able to earn multiple wins, highlighted by Neils Van Noord, who went unbeaten at No. 1 singles and No. 1 Doubles. Now we have to immediately turn our attention to the ITA Regional Tournament this week in Philadelphia. We have seven players and three doubles teams that qualified, which is the most in school history."
