POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Despite a season-high 66 points on 44% from the floor, the Monmouth University women's basketball team fell at Marist on Thursday night, 76-66. The Red Foxes shot 50% from the floor and forced 21 turnovers.
Sophomore
Lucy Thomas (Ocean, NJ/St. Rose) led the Hawks with 14 points, adding six rebounds and two assists in the loss.

Jen Louro (Wall, NJ/St. Rose/UMass Lowell) compiled 13 points, making three of five three-point attempts. Senior
Akilah Jennings (San Jose, CA/Presentation/UC Santa Barbara) went into double-figures for the sixth time this season, adding 10 points to go along with six rebounds.
Marist's Alana Gilmer led all scorers with 27 points, shooting 10-17 from the floor.
Monmouth drops to 4-7 (1-1 MAAC) on the season, and will continue MAAC play on Saturday afternoon when its hosts Canisius.

-A triple from Jennings gave Monmouth an early 4-3 lead, but the Red Foxes used an 8-0 run to go up 11-4.
-Monmouth later got three-pointers from senior
Sierra Green, Jennings, and Thomas twice to cut the deficit to 19-16. A late Red Foxes basket gave them a five-point lead after one quarter.
-After Marist jumped out to a double-digit lead, a deep three from Green midway through the second quarter cut Monmouth's deficit to 33-25.
-The teams traded three-pointers and layups to close the frame. At halftime, the Red Foxes led 40-30.
-Marist scored the first nine points of the third quarter, forcing Monmouth to call a timeout. Louro ended the run with a quick triple.
-The Hawks made six straight baskets to close the third quarter, but Marist answered with 22 points in the frame, leading 62-48 heading into the fourth.
-Monmouth outscored Marist 18-14 in the final quarter, eventually suffering the 10-point loss.

-Monmouth registered season-highs in points, field goal percentage, field goals made, three-point percentage, three-pointers made, and assists.

Alexa Middleton ended with nine points and five boards. She ranks 10
th all-time with 720 career rebounds. Middleton is the only Monmouth player to start all 11 games so far.

Rosa Graham ended with nine points (3-4 3FG) and four assists. Her 233 career assists rank 18
th all-time.
-The Hawks scored in double-figures in all four quarters for the fourth time this season, and second straight game.
-With another two tonight, Green now has 125 three-pointers in 42 career games at Monmouth (2.98 per game).

Taylor Nason played in her 100
th career game, becoming the third player this season to surpass the mark (Middleton, Graham).
