WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Freshman Yasmin Pratt (Wicklow, Ireland / Kilkenny College HS) scored her team-leading seventh goal and sophomore goalkeeper Kate O'Hogan (Dublin, Ireland / Mount Anville Secondary) turned away four shots, but the Monmouth University field hockey team fell to William & Mary, 3-1, Sunday afternoon on So Sweet A Cat Field.

The Tribe (2-4) scored 5:01 into the game off a corner play; a strike from the top of the circle from Haley Hopkins.  Christie van de Kamp scored on a penalty stroke nearly eight minutes into the second half to put the visitors up a pair.  In the fourth quarter, sophomore Annick van Lange (Sint-Job, Belgium / Annuntia Institute) sent a shot that deflected into the air and was pushed aside by the Tribe's keeper, but Pratt batted it out of the air and into the netting to cut the lead to one.  William & Mary added an insurance goal in the 59th minute to secure the 3-1 victory.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Yasmin Pratt increased her point total to 17 with her seventh goal of the year.  The rookie has a marker in five of the last seven games.
- Kate O'Hogan matched her season-high save total with four.
- Annick van Lange registered four shots with two attempts reaching target.  Ireen Frenken, Josephine van der Hoop, Aylin Aufenacker, and Pratt each had two shots on the afternoon.
- Annie Deusch registered her third career defensive save, the Hawks' first of the season.
- William & Mary held a slight edge in shots, 13-12, while earning two more corners than the Hawks (8-6).
