PRINCETON, NJ- The Monmouth University men's track and field team competed and finished 2
nd at the 143rd IC4A Championships at Princeton University. This is the highest finish that the men's program has ever had in outdoor track at this competition. The women finished 16th by scoring 18 points across the weekend.
Monmouth totaled 67 points to finish behind only Navy (1st with 109). The Hawks outdistanced William and Mary (3rd with 38), Northeastern (4th with 35) and over 60 other schools at the meet this year.

- "The conditions on Sunday were very challenging for all the teams, and I was proud of how our crew battled and made the most of it," said head coach
Joe Compagni. "Today was not a day for fast time and big marks, but we competed well. The men's finish was tremendous and well beyond anything we've done at IC4As outdoors."
- The men's previous best finish at the IC4A Outdoor Championships was 7
thplace back in 2016. At the Indoor IC4As, the Hawks finished 3
rd this year. Monmouth won the IC4A indoor Championships in 2015.

Darius Howe won the triple jump for the second year in a row with a jump of 49'9.75". The competition was suspended with one round of jumps remaining due to a flooded pit and runway.

Corey Murphy placed third in the shot put by throwing 54'4" to be named All-East.
- Murphy earned a second All-East honor by placing 7
th in the discus throw with a mark of 151'1".

Tim Jacoutot and
Greg Stickle, who went 1-2 at the MAAC Championships, went 3-4 in the 400-meter hurdles here by finishing in 54.40 and 54.83 seconds.
- Senior Harrison Bickmore finished fifth in the high jump by clearing 6'7". This was Bickmore's highest finish after earning All-East at this meet several times previously.

Bryan Sosoo earned All-East honors once again, winning his preliminary heat and then running 10.91 in the finals to finish 7
th in the 100-meter dash
- The 4x400 relay team of Jacoutot, Stickle,
Mohamed Diagouraga and Jalen Jones placed fifth in the event by finishing in 3:21.16.
- Allison Taub took 6
th in the shot put to earn All-East honors with a throw of 45'3.75".
- In the last event of the day in heavy rains, Taub came back to finish 5
th in the discus with a throw of 136'9".
- Without a few top performers who are preparing for the 1st Round of NCAAs, the women finish 16th of 86 ECAC Div. I member schools. The Hawks have been in the top 20 at this Championships the last 8 years in a row, including 5 finishes in the top 8 overall in the last 6 years.
- The men's point total of 67 points easily surpasses the previous best of 36 set at this meet in 2016.
- Monmouth had IC4A qualifiers in 15 events and earned All-East finishes in 12 of those events,
The Hawks' women had ECAC Div. I qualifiers in 10 events and earned All-East finishes in 4 of them.

- The Hawks will find out later this week which athletes are ranked high enough to earn bids to the First Round of the NCAA Championships, to be held in Jacksonville, Florida on May 23 to 25.
