SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
The MAAC's leading scorer, Cameron Young paces the Bobcats at 18.5 points per contest, while sophomores Rich Kelly and Jacob Rigoni average just below double figures. QU split a pair of opening weekend MAAC games, topping Manhattan and falling to Rider.

SERIES NOTES
-Quinnipiac leads the all-time series 20-17.
-The teams met just once last season, with QU winning in Hamden to open MAAC play.
-MU and Quinnipiac came over from the NEC to join the MAAC together on July 1, 2013.
-Since becoming MAAC foes, QU has won five of the nine games. Each team won four consecutive contests before the Bobcats snapped MU's streak last season.

WHAT A WEEK FOR DIAGO
Diago Quinn had scored 19 points just once in his collegiate career, but did it in all three games to open 2019 in the same week, setting a career-high with his first 20-point game at Iona. He helped MU go 2-1, including a league win and a victory at Ivy League favorite Penn. Quinn finished one rebound shy of averaging a double-double for the week, collecting one at Penn with 19 and 14 rebounds. The senior shot 58% and 78% from the line, blocking four shots.

QUINN NAMED TO MET BASKETBALL WRITERS HONORABLE MENTION
Diago Quinn earned a spot on the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division I Honorable Mention after coming a rebound shy of averaging a double-double for the week. Saint John's guard Shamorie Ponds was named the Player of the Week by the organization.

CHAPUT'S EMERGENCE
Samuel Chaput emerged on the floor for Monmouth from 12/31-1/5, seeing overtime rotation minutes at Penn and grabbing four rebounds before scoring a career-best nine points in a season-high 23 minutes at Iona. He capped the week with his first double digit scoring performance, including his first career triple and two highlight-reel finishes at the rim.

BEST DEFENSIVE EFFORT IN A WHILE
Monmouth limited Saint Peter's to just 44 total points, the best defensive effort for MU in 1,126 days dating back to a 56-42 win at Niagara on December 6, 2015. In that game, then-freshman Diago Quinn made his first career start as the 15-16 Hawks picked up their first MAAC win of the season. The 15 field goals MU allowed to SPU was the lowest by an MU opponent this year, as was the 20-point first half by the Peacocks.

GETTING EVERYONE ACTION
All 15 Hawks on the roster saw action against both Iona and Saint Peter's for the first time this season. Mike James recorded his first career assist at Iona, while Dave Calloway scored for the third time in a game this year against the Gaels.

MOVING UP THE GAMES PLAYED LIST
Diago Quinn moved into the top-17 of games played in program history against Saint Peter's, appearing in his 116th career game. Quinn tied former Hawks Max DiLeo and Mike Myers-Keitt and is on pace to play in at least 133 games. The all-time record was set by Chris Brady with 135 games, with Austin Tilghman in second with 132.

HAMMOND GETS 20
Deion Hammond posted his third career 20+ point game and second of the season, scoring 22 at Iona, his highest scoring output of the year. He tied a career-best with five made three pointers, going 8-14 from the field in 25 minutes.
