QUINN'S STRONG STRETCH
Diago Quinn has topped a career-high in points in two straight games, netting 20 points at Iona, his first career 20-point contest. For the second game in a row, he reached double figures in the first half, and eventually tied a career-best with seven made field goals. He has also blocked four shots combined in the last two contests. He tied his career mark with 19 points at Penn while also converting his second career double-double.Â
HAMMOND BREAKS OUT
Deion Hammond posted his third career 20+ point game and second of the season, scoring 22 at Iona, his highest scoring output of the year. He tied a career-best with five made three pointers, going 8-14 from the field in 25 minutes.
CHAPUT MOVING UP
True freshman point guard Samuel Chaput scored a career-high nine points at Iona, the most by a Hawk freshman this season. He was 4-5 from the floor, the first time he netted more than one field goal in a contest. He played a career best 23 minutes one game after seeing some of his most extended time of the season at Penn, playing nine minutes while also seeing time in overtime. He netted his only opportunity against the Quakers, a potential three-point play opportunity after finishing at the rim. He also collected a career-high four rebounds in Philly.
MOST POINTS
Monmouth set a season high in scoring with 84 points at Iona, while also marking season bests in field goals made with 28 and three pointers made with 10. The 44-point second stanza tied a season high for a single half.
