FIRST YEAR FOR MORE THAN ONE MULTIPLE OVERTIME GAME
The Hawks have played the two longest games in the program's Division I history this season, setting the record for the longest game in a four-overtime affair against Penn on 11/25. MU then played Siena to three overtimes, ultimately winning on 2/18, the first triple overtime contest in the history of MU basketball.
WINNING WITHOUT BLOCKING A SHOT
Monmouth's win over Siena came with the Hawks registering zero shots blocked as a team on the night. It has been over a season since MU won a game without a block, doing so on 12/20/16 against Princeton at home. It marked the second time this season Monmouth didn't record a block, also doing so in a loss at Virginia on 11/19.
APPROACHING THE WINNINGEST CLASS IN PROGRAM HISTORY
True seniors
Austin Tilghman and Dan Pillari are one win shy in their careers of passing former teammates
Justin Robinson,
Josh James,
Collin Stewart and
Chris Brady as the winningest players in program history. Those four players won 84 games in the Blue and White, while Tilghman and Pillari are at 83 in their time in a Hawks uniform.
SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to tonight's game, seniors
Austin Tilghman and Dan Pillari as well as fifth year senior
Zac Tillman will be honored for their time in a Hawks uniform. The group combined to win a pair of MAAC regular season titles and have appeared in 312 games between them, totaling 1,506 points.
SWIPING IT
MU tied a season high at Siena with 12 steals, led by four from
Austin Tilghman and a pair each from
Melik Martin,
Micah Seaborn and
Ray Salnave. All five starters recorded a steal on the afternoon.
PAPAS, SEABORN, TILGHMAN RETURN
Both
George Papas and
Austin Tilghman made their returns to the court against Canisius, with Tilghman coming back after missing just one game and Papas returning having missed nine in a row since January 14.
Micah Seaborn came back against Siena after a seven-game absence to score 15 points and collect six rebounds and five assists.
