TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT WAGNER AND PRINCETON

Princeton, NJ/Staten Island, NY- The Monmouth men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout and Princeton New Year's Invitational this weekend before a break for the holidays. The Hawks close out 2018 by posting impressive times at Wagner and Princeton.
 
NOTES AND QUOTES
  • "We know we have a lot to work on technically when we get into the heart of the season after the holidays, but it was great to see some people step forward from last week with their performances," said head coach Joe Compagni.
 
Princeton New Year's Invitational
  • Tim Jacoutot finished second in the 300-meter dash with a time of 35.36 seconds.
  • Khalid Slocum placed second in the 60-meter dash with a IC4A Qualifying time of 6.89 seconds.
  • Freshman Jalen Jones won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.47 seconds.
  • Nadale Buntin, Naeem Green, Jones and Greg Stickle teamed up to win the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:22.12.
  • Montel Johnson won the weight throw with a mark of 51'11" with his teammate Daniel Gilligan finished just behind him in second with a throw of 51'8.25".
  • Slocum won the long jump with a jump of 23'5.5" while teammate Nadale Buntin finished just behind with a mark of 23'1.25".
  • Freshmen Rickie Casazza (6'3.75") and Derek Vander Woude (6'2.75") finished 2-3 in the high jump.
  • Michael Pepper placed fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 46'10".
  • For the women, Chibuzo Amonu placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 51'0.25" while teammate Jordan Wildermuth finished fourth with a mark of 49'3".
  • Mariah Hubbard finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 37'5".
  • Samantha Fellows placed third in the high jump by clearing 5'1.75".
  • Freshman Lauren Saifi finished fourth in pole vault by clearing 10'11.75".
  • Allison Taub placed second in the shot put with a mark of 45'2.5". Amonu placed fourth with a toss of 44'.
 
Seahawk Shootout
 
  • On Friday at the Seahawk Shootout, freshman Sarah Crissman led the way for a small group of Monmouth women competing by winning the mile in 5:05.52. Freshman Michaela Baker and sophomore Celeste Aurora finished 5th and 6th in the same event, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. 
  • Junior Nioami Miranda finished 4th in the 300 there in 41.27, with fellow junior Mackenzie Todd winning her heat and taking 5th overall in the 600 inn 1:40.35. Patricia Donahue finished 5th for the Hawks in the 1000.
