EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University's men's and women's track and field teams have been picked to repeat as MAAC Indoor Track and Field champions for the 2018-19 season. The women have won five straight MAAC indoor titles since joining the MAAC for the 2013-14 season while the men have won four of the last five championships.

The men's team received seven first place votes to earn 63 points to take the top spot in the preseason poll while Rider received the other first place vote and 55 points to be picked second. Manhattan earned 46 points to take third and was followed by Iona with 44 points. Siena (30 points) and Canisius (19 points) were slotted fifth and sixth while Marist (18 points) and Saint Peter's (13 points) rounded out the poll.

On the women's side, the 5-time defending champion Hawks earned 78 points and seven first place votes, followed by Rider, which earned 70 points and a first place vote. Quinnipiac received 61 points to be picked third and was followed by Manhattan in fourth with 58 points and one first place vote. Iona (46 points), Marist (37 points) and Siena (25 points) were slotted 5-6-7 in the preseason poll. The was rounded out by Canisius and Saint Peter's with 18 and 12 points, respectively.

The indoor track season begins this weekend as the Hawks host the OceanFirst Bank Center Classic. Some field events will take place on the night of Friday, November 30, with a full schedule of events on Saturday, December 1.
