PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Monmouth University field hockey team had its six-game winning streak snapped, falling at Drexel, 5-1, Friday night at Buckley Field.
Drexel built a two-goal lead within the opening 19 minutes, the first off a corner and the second coming off a Monmouth turnover inside the defensive-25. The Hawks cut the deficit in half in the 25th minute when Georgia Garden Bachop connected with her team-leading 12th goal of the season, weaving around defenders before beating the keeper one-one-one. Drexel scored twice within an eight minute span in the second half and added another with three minutes to play to build the four-goal lead the Hawks could not overcome.
