Meg Donahue,
Georgia Garden Bachop and
Elyssa Okken each found the back of the cage as the Monmouth University field hockey team cruised to a commanding 7-0 victory over Lehigh, Friday afternoon at So Sweet a Cat Field. Senior goalkeeper
Christen Piersanti and the defensive unit posted their first shutout of the season for the Hawks, who improve to 3-2 with the victory.
Donahue got the scoring started in the 12th minute when she collected a loose ball in the circle and hammered in her third goal of the year. Okken scored in similar fashion in the 16th minute to put the Hawks up two before van der Hoop scored her first of the day 10 minutes before the break. The Netherlands native finished off a fast break five minutes into the second half before Garden Bachop and Laszlo combined on the next two goals on corner opportunities. Laszlo's second of the game capped off the scoring in the 66th minute.
Piersanti was credited with one save in the victory.

- Laszlo recorded her fifth career multi-goal game, while van der Hoop registered her first two-goal afternoon. Laszlo finished the day with a team best five points with two goals and an assist.
- Okken tallied her first goal of the year and fourth of her career.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Monmouth outshot Lehigh, 17-3, including 10-1 in the opening half.
- The Hawks earned seven attacking corners, compared to three for the Mountain Hawks.
- Laszlo finished with a team high six shots with five landing on cage. Donahue contributed four attempts.
