WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – After overcoming previously undefeated Marist yesterday, the Monmouth University men's tennis team took down Quinnipiac in the final match of the regular season, 5-2 . The Hawks will be the first seed in this weekend's MAAC tournament after going a perfect 7-0. Despite falling at #1 and #2 singles, Monmouth swept #3 through #6 doubles, including Ale Gomez Estrada's 6-2, 6-1 win at #3. The Hawks won all three doubles matches, as Gomez Estrada teamed up with Przemyslaw Filipek to take the close 7-6 win. Nicola Pipoli earned the #2 doubles win with Alberto Giuffrida, who also won at #5 singles. Before winning at #4 singles, Christian Vieira earned the doubles win with Vikrant Dahiya, 6-2.
