Biography
2014-15 (Sophomore): Competed in 21 overall singles matches for the Blue and White… Posted seven victories in dual matches, while notching five wins in tournament action… Earned singles wins against opponents from Colgate, Sacred Heart, Villanova, Saint Peter’s and Rider… Registered a combined nine doubles victories with five different teammates.
2013-14 (Freshman): Named to the All-MAAC First Team at No. 6 Singles and Second Team at No. 1 Doubles with Victor Pugliese… Compiled a 20-12 overall singles record, including a 16-4 dual match record… Ended the year with a 5-1 league mark in singles action… Defeated opponents from Lehigh, Army, Boston College, No. 55 Princeton, Coppin State, Niagara, Villanova, Wagner, Saint Francis (Pa.), Siena, Fairfield, Hofstra, Quinnipiac, Niagara, and Marist… Posted 14 doubles victories… Finished the season 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, including a 4-0 mark in MAAC play.
Before Monmouth: Competed for the Mustangs of Memorial High School in Houston, Texas… Help guide team to UIL Team Tennis Regional Championship and Spring Branch ISD Double Champion in 2009-2012… UIL State 5-A Finalist in Boys Doubles in 2013… Earned UIL Regional Championship in Boys Doubles… Also competed for the US Tennis Association, earning the SuperChamp and Doubles Crowns… Claimed the National Open Boys 16s Doubles Title… Selected to play in the National Hard Court Championship, National Clay Court Championships and Spring Championship.
Personal: Son of Jose Vieira and Karen Vieira… Majoring in political science and international studies.
